Kids and Hypoglycemia

For the past 35 years, the HSF has worked diligently to inform the public about the harmful effects of a high sugar diet, the biggest culprit contributing to hypoglycemia. It was not until the last few years that the medical community and the media joined in our efforts. Although adults continue to contact our organization for information and support, it is the parents of adolescents and young children who have us most concerned… their cries for help have reached an all-time high!

For this reason, the HSF is focusing on Children & Hypoglycemia!

With all the programs out there addressing the consequences of a high sugar diet and how it contributes to the declining health of our society, it is still clearly evident that we at the HSF need to take it one step further. That’s why we are asking parents, teachers, healthcare professionals and community leaders to band together and spread our message: What you are and are not eating contributes to how you think, feel and act. There is definitely a food/mood connection!

If your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms, this may be warning signs that they are suffering from hypoglycemia! The solution may lie in a simple diet and lifestyle change!

Meet Parker

Meet Parker…he is 7 years old and has hypoglycemia. His hypoglycemia requires that he wear an alarm watch that reminds him to eat every 2 hours. If not, his sugar plummets and he experiences severe symptoms.

Parker’s mom is so excited that she found the HSF’s website and Facebook page where she can connect with other mothers of children experiencing the same challenges.  This is our mission!

A Brother & Sister

“I have both a 4 and 6 year old that have been diagnosed with  hypoglycemia.  Although I try to help them understand what is happening  and help them ‘listen to their body,’  it’s frustrating that family, friends and even their school teachers have no idea what they are going through.   But I have found the HSF’s website and Facebook page and look forward to reading and receiving posts about what’s happening. It’s so good to know that there’s something out there I can read/relate to.”
